At Aftermath Gaming club we have a strong following of Historical gamers playing a number of different rules and Historical periods.
On this page you will find out about some of the more Historical games that are played. This does not mean that this is all we play or will play - we are open to anything and welcome different interests at the club.
One of the most popular Historical games played at Aftermath is Old West, a Warhammer Historical Rule set. Gather a bunch of Lawmen, Cowboys or Desperados and go on a six gun rampage.
Thanks to club members we have a great set up, including buildings ranging from a Mexican church to a cowboy campfire with, yes, tumble weeds blowing around in the distance.
Adam has created rules for villagers so they interact with the players' miniatures in different ways. Get caught by the soiled dove and your posse member gets dragged upstairs!

Another very populer game at the club is WW2 using the new Rules of Engagment rule set. Again with a fantastic display of scenery mainly based around the Normandy campaign there's an endless amount of fun and missions to take part in.
This game is played using 28mm miniatures including vehicles such as Tigers, Panthers Shermans and many more.
As well as the 28mm games some members also own 15mm miniatures and there are plans for some large scale battles in the future including Navel battles with the new A+A miniatures.
Talking of A+A you will also find members playing many of the different historical boardgames on offer including most of the A+A games as well as one of my personnal favs Battle Cry a great American War game.

A period in History that is fast becoming populer in the club is the Dark Ages. These games can be played with 28mm miniatures as well as the smaller scale of 15mm or 20mm, it all depends on the scenario you wish to play.
Members of the club play using both scales and with this being the case many rulesets can be found. One of the most popular would be the Ancient Battles rule set, again from Warhammer Historical.
The Dark Ages are great fun and very interesting, looking at forces such as the Vikings and the Saxons and the legendary heroes of Britain including Arther and his knights.
