40k LEAGUE 2013

Army Selection:

The points size of games for the league is 1500pts, which must be selected from the most recently published version of your chosen Codex, Imperial Armour book or White Dwarf Official Update. This 1500pt list needs to be submitted no later than 7 days after the start of the league. The following restrictions apply when constructing your force:

  • Units and army lists from Imperial Armour and Horus Heresy books are allowed with the exception of Super Heavy vehicles / flyers and Gargantuan Creatures.
  • Allies and Fortifications are permitted (including any Fortifications from White Dwarf or IA books).

The army must adhere to the standard Force Organisation Chart (FOC) found in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, or as in the case of specialist lists from the Imperial Armour / Horus Heresy books, its relevant entry. For entries that specify the use of a Codex in addition to the rules laid out in an Imperial Armour book, you must have both books to make use of the rules.

Changing units:

Once players have played three fixtures, they are then eligible to make any changes to their army list. You are permitted to make as many changes as you want, but this can only be done once and the list is not to be changed again over the course of the league. Please note that you must not switch to a different Codex or army (the only exception is if your armies Codex is re-released)

Scoring:

During the league, the following scoring format will be used: 3pts for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for defeat.

The points gained from the results of the games are called League Points. A bonus League point will be awarded if a player wipes out his opponent.

A running count of Victory Points from each round is also used in the final rankings as a tie-breaker. These are the normal Victory Point conditions found in the mission description in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. At the end of each round, players are required to submit the results to the league organisers (Si or Marcel) via PM on the forum.

League format:

The league will run from March 1st 2013 until June 1st 2013.

There will be 12 places available for the league. It will be then separated into 2 groups of 6. In these groups, players will play the other members of the group once.

Once positions have been decided, the groups will merge into a Play-off round. The positions are decided on a combination of League points and Victory points (used as a tie-breaker if two or more players are tied on league points).

The winners of each group will play each other in a grand final to decide the league champion, the group runners up will play each other and so on.

The 2 lowest scoring players will go into a wooden hammer final.

Prizes:

At the end of the league, there will be prizes for the Champion (glass trophy) and certificates for the 2nd and 3rd place players. There will also be a coveted Wooden Mallet for the player who places last.

There will be a £3 contribution per player to pay for trophy and frames.
