MEMBERSHIP TYPES FOR 2010 (Proposed)

This proposal will be voted on at the club's 2009 AGM and is therefore subject to ratification by members

Full Membership Fee

By becoming an Aftermath Club member, you are agreeing that you can commit to attend the Aftermath Club on its regular Tuesday club night - indeed, that your keenness for wargaming is why you joined the Aftermath Club in the first place! Aftermath Club meetings are only open to those who are members of the Aftermath Club. The club has an age 18+ policy.

Aftermath Club membership costs £132 a year which, for ease of payment, can be paid in 12 monthly instalments of £11, payable to the club treasurer upon the first meeting of each month.

The Aftermath Club Committee believes this represents very good value and entitles Aftermath members to continue using the Club facilities; the use of the wonderfully evocative Lazar House; the use of Aftermath Club gaming resources such as gaming boards and scenery and also benefit from public liability insurance cover.

If for whatever reason a member is unable to attend some meetings, the FULL membership payment is still due - the club is still required to pay the hall hire fee irrespective of how many members attend.

Inevitably, situations occur (illness, holidays etc) that prevents attendance on the occasional club night and this is of course unfortunate. However, even taking into account missed club nights, the Aftermath Committee consider paying a membership fee of £11 a month still very reasonable.

Continuation of Aftermath Club membership and its associated benefits are therefore reliant on membership fees being kept up to date by the Aftermath Club member.

Half Membership Fee

The Aftermath Committee realises that some people may only be able to attend Club nights a couple of times a month due to shift work commitments. Not wishing to preclude anyone from taking part within Club activities, for those members who have shift work commitments, the Aftermath Club may offer a discretionary half membership, with applications for eligibilty to be presented to the Aftermath Club Committee. Half membership will be £66 a year which, for ease of payment, can be paid in 12 monthly instalments of £5.50. This entitles the member to attend 2 meetings per month plus 2 further meetings out of the 4 times a year when there are 5 Tuesdays in the month. If the member wishes to attend any extra meetings, these will be charged at an extra £3.00 per session.

Half membership is NOT a way of attending the Aftermath Club on an “ad hoc” basis - it is for those with a keenness to attend the Club but who GENUINELY cannot make every Tuesday due to work commitments.

Visiting Guests

Sometimes an Aftermath Club member may wish to arrange to play a game on club night with a friend who is a non-member or against a member of another war gaming club. In such an instance, the non-member will be a “visiting guest” and a one-off attendance fee of £3.00 is payable to the Aftermath Club treasurer on the night of attendance.
